My favorite thing about where we live used to be that Stella’s & Stella’s Market was within walking distance, but that changed a few months ago and now my favorite thing is just the little block that it’s become since House of Floralie opened up. It’s a locally-owned gift shop that focuses on thoughtfully curated gifts, and considering I was there on day one, I think I can vouch that this is certainly true. KK & Bobby are incredibly sweet and have helped me pick out gifts for several (and very different) people and of course, always have goodies that I obviously need for myself.
Last week, in the midst of food styling for a shoot at work, it was nice to mix it up with some drinks. They hosted a private event on a Thursday night — and Thursdays are always a good excuse to have a drink or maybe 4.
Belle Isle Moonshine & Mother Shrub, both local to Richmond, collaborated on four tasty cocktails that I would’ve never thought of on my own, but so glad I know of them now (and so do you!). And because no detail is ever left behind, our tasting glasses were curated vintage glasses.
I bought a bottle of the black cherry Mother Shrub, and even though I hear it goes great just mixed with seltzer, Bobby suggested adding it to a moscow mule, so um, that may have been all I’ve been doing. Whoops.
