I feel like an imposter even calling this a DIY “project,” but let’s go on.
The last thing on my holiday checklist over the weekend was also the easiest holiday/DIY project I’ve ever done. I can’t believe its taken me 29 years to figure this out, but I love it so much that I hope it’ll become a yearly tradition.
I’m no Martha Stewart, but Martha herself does have this handy little “recipe” for drying your own orange slices here. Or, save yourself another open tab on your browser and thinly slice your oranges (I did about 3 large navel oranges), put them in the oven for about 2.5 hours @ 200F, and then hang them on your tree, on a wreath, on a garland, or all of the above.
If you don’t have any needles nearby (hi, that’s me), you can just tie a piece of string (I don’t know why I have an endless supply of this baker’s twine but it’s perfect and I hope you randomly have some too!) to a toothpick and there you have it: a festive orange slice garland.
