And by mastering, I mean I’ve figured out the best day to order Joe’s Inn takeout so the bread they give you with your food is in prime french toast condition. And that Thursday. Not that we do this weekly (I wish we did) but over the last year and a half, we’ve figured out that if we order dinner from Joe’s Inn on Thursday night, the bread is perfect for french toast on Sunday morning. Otherwise, it was just going to waste because we really don’t need huge slices of bread to go with a salad or french fries.
Oh of course the eggs made a heart in the bowl ❤️
Since I’m in my fall oatmeal mode (recipe to come later), today I just made this for Michael. When you’re up early on a weekend morning with a whiny puppy, there really isn’t much else to do except for cook & clean, so I did both.
I just used the basics: eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla & butter, but if you want a really good recipe, my friend Isabel posted this recipe a few years ago and it’s spot on.
