By default, Mondays are just terrible. Even though I love my job, there is just no worse part of the week than a Monday. Thanks to Christopher Columbus, I had a three-day weekend to take advantage of and didn’t even need to do laundry on Sunday (which is the biggest perk, if you ask me).
We just had what felt like the longest week of rain, and now that the hurricane has passed for the time being, it seems like fall has finally decided to show its pretty little face and today was a much needed day to still get up, shower, and seize the day… err, really just enjoy the gorgeous weather. My productivity level was nowhere near seizing anything.
I started with breakfast (at my favorite, sugar + twine, obviously) with my friend Kandis which turned into a three hour meal because somehow it’s been over a year since we had seen each other even though if I’m lucky, my first snapchat of the day comes from her. A 3-hour breakfast meant that afterwards, I went straight to lunch with Michael so he could help me decide what to do with all of this free time I had while I took advantage of puppy nap time. I talked myself out of an unnecessary trip to Anthropologie so the only logical thing left to do was to go to Target.
“basic” or not, you can’t pass up the 2 for 1 sale when they are $22 each a very real depiction of life around here these days a clean bookshelf (for five minutes)
Back at home, windows open & dogs destroying everything around them, I finished cleaning, made some cookies, and showed every ounce of self-control by not tearing open the bag of Reese’s pumpkins that somehow fell into my cart at Target. I even decided to skip the gym today because sometimes you need a day to let the fresh air in, buy yourself flowers, a new book & pumpkin-shaped chocolate, and just say screw dirtying up a good hair day.
Fall is here and I couldn’t be more excited if I tried. Next up.. apple picking. I’m one of those girls.
