Well obviously I can’t post about our trip to NY without mentioning the whole reason we went! I think some snapchats were a little misleading on Friday, so a few people thought we had run away to NY to secretly get married but we were actually there for Michael’s college roommate’s wedding! I just met them a year ago but they still one of my favorite couples ever and I couldn’t be happier to see them married.
the views just got better & better
The wedding was on Friday night (which I think is an excellent idea so I might copy them in 2027 when I get married) so it gave us all of Saturday to recover (and repeat drinking!) before having to make the trek home on Sunday. It was in a restored pre-WWII factory loft space in Greenpoint with amazing views of the New York skyline where everyone had cocktail hour after the reception. The view was so good that I suffered through the worst pain of wearing heels for the first time and didn’t even care that I seemed to be the only girl sweating.
The bride is a girl after my own heart & they served not just Magnolia cupcakes, but Levain cookies too. It literally does not get any better as far as desserts go and nobody can convince me otherwise. I was so full from the freaking amazing-and-not-even-served-on-shitty-plates-BBQ dinner that I didn’t even have room for these things after, but I more than made up for both the next day with leftovers.
…and so continues my Brooklyn obsession. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Stehlgens – we are so happy for you! ❤️
