It’s no surprise to everyone who knows me that I love a cute coffee shop and sometimes I’m not sure what’s more important: the interior of the coffeeshop or the coffee itself. Anytime we are traveling, I have to do my research ahead of time and scope out the best one around. Luckily, we have friends who totally understand my very vague description of “cute coffee shop.” 🙂 As a former barista @ Starbucks, I’ve spent my fair share of time instead of Starbucks so now is my time to branch out.
At the very top of my list of favorite coffeeshops is sugar + twine, which we are lucky enough to live pretty close to. Last year, they bought and turned a dark, hideous coffeeshop in Carytown into the cutest one around, complete with big ass mugs and the best biscuit sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Michael and I love coming here on Saturday mornings and on the weeks when we are lucky enough to get a corner booth, I could sit in here forever people-watching, reading the newspaper, or just chatting it up with him. We’re definitely an old married couple (even though we are actually not old nor married) and a visit to sugar + twine is my favorite way to start a weekend.
you know its a good breakfast when its gone before your coffee has even cooled down…
It’s always really crowded when we go, so I actually don’t have any photos of the inside but trust me when I say it’s cute, and you should go. And definitely get the biscuit. Sometimes, when I’m feeling extra fancy (and fat), I order a cinnamon roll while we wait for our sandwiches.
