A few weeks ago, I started the 21 day superhero challenge. It’s a paleo diet mixed with daily workout/informational videos. After reading the meal plan and rules, I just decided that repeating whole30 (with an exception for butter explained later) would be easier for me to keep track of. I basically got tired of not feeling like myself and I kept looking back at photos from when I lost a ton of weight a few years ago and got pretty bummed that I wasn’t feeling (or looking) my best so I decided to kick my ass into gear for the summer & for good. Nightly desserts are not my friend.
an acquired taste but kind of actually worth the $3
I know how to work out & I know how to eat well but my biggest problem is getting up in the morning and starting my day off on the right foot. For THREE freaking weeks now, I’ve gotten up before 6am and dragged my butt to the gym before work and I’m amazed at the results (both physically and mentally and all that jazz). Considering my job completely revolves around cookie & cracker accounts, its been a struggle to not crave things I don’t need, but I’ve stayed strong!
There are two things that I now swear by on this little adventure of mine. The sleep cycle app & bulletproof coffee. The app wakes you up slowly so you get up in your lightest sleep and feel refreshed, and the coffee gives you wings. I know, I was hesitant at first too. Actually, for a full year or two, I’d read about the crazy people who put coconut oil and BUTTER in their coffee, but its actually really good and makes me feel like a superhero 29 year old who doesn’t even need a nap anymore. Add 1-2 tablespoons of both coconut oil & grass-fed butter to your coffee and I swear you’ll thank me later.
My plan is to keep this up until our vacation in June, then pick it back up until our next one (where I will be eating ALL of the ice cream because I firmly believe that the ice cream in northern Michigan is the very best).
