As I mentioned earlier, I started whole30 on Monday, so this past weekend was my first Sunday night dinner that needed to be whole30 approved. I was a little sad to be missing out on buttered rolls and dessert, but I knew that whatever we had would still be delicious (or magical.. which is how I describe pretty much everything she makes).
Sunday’s menu consisted of steaks as big as my head, salads, and plain baked potato with ghee for me and twice baked potatoes for them. I won’t lie and say I didn’t miss the cheese on my potato, but the meal was perfect and if it wasn’t for seeing the cheesy baked potato goodness right before my eyes, I wouldn’t have missed it at all.
Sometimes I can’t believe that I was a vegetarian for almost 5 years, but I had been craving a good steak all last week and that’s one thing I’ve never attempted to make, nor do I plan on trying because I know for sure it will not end well. Cast iron skillet or not.
We all skipped dessert, watched Guy’s Grocery Games and called it a night. I love that Michael not only shares pretty much everything with me, but also shares his mom. Sundays are just the best.
